Title: RETSD Project Based Learning
The River East Transcona School Division is in the process of creating a school focused on preparing students for science, technology, engineering and math(STEM) based careers through interdisciplinary project based learning. For years structured education has been focused on content acquisition which has contributed to population lacking in the skills needed to excel in post-secondary studies and the world of work. Our school is focused, not only on providing content but to cultivate skills for post-secondary studies as well as the world of work. Partnerships with industry and post-secondary institutions will be foundational to this education approach to ensure students are properly prepared for life long learning and a competitive and fulfilling career. We invite staff from the science, computer science, math and engineering faculties to listen to our presentation.
